Cupcakes

July 15th, 2016

We had a fantastic day yesterday!

In English we have been looking at instruction writing. We wrote instructions for making cupcakes and created different designs, then we got to make them. We are also going to write evaluations on them. We had so much fun and worked well as a team making sure everyone had a turn. We had to use our maths skills to use the scales!

Apostrophes for possession blogging

October 12th, 2015

For today’s blogging lesson you will be looking at how to use apostrophes for possession.

Apostrophes can be used to show that something belongs to someone.

For example:

Billy’s coat was on the floor.

There is an ‘s after Billy to show that the coat belongs to him.

Can you write sentences using apostrophes for possession accurately.

Simile hunt

October 8th, 2015

As part of our Catching Words lessons where we are learning about creative writing we went on a simile hunt. We were each given post stick notes and went outside on the field. We then used the things in the field such as the trim trails, mole hills and pond to create exciting similes and stuck our post sticks to them. Next we had to find our favourite similes and collect them back up!

Can you think of any creative similes?

Blogging lesson

September 22nd, 2015

For your blogging lesson today you are looking at homophones.

First give a definition of a homophone.

Then, write sentences with homophones in them to show their meanings.

I look forward to reading your sentences. Make sure that they are grammatically correct as well as using the correct spelling.
